As we enter February, it feels like the last month of Summer is flying by. You can extend your love of Summer into Autumn with some time out at JFJ.

Whether you love becoming a bronzed goddess with the natural looking Black Magic spray tan, or really need some quality time with a friend by getting your nails done together, you can hang onto your Summer by heading in to see the lovely ladies in the beauty salon. Currently I’m loving Shelley’s Hawaiian massage – great for both relaxation and to relieve the tension and stress from returning to work after end of year holidays.

Please meet Annie Nicholls who is a senior stylist and hair specialist trainer who will give you some hot hair tips to keep you feeling beautiful at this time of year.

My role: senior stylist and trainer.

Reasons for entering profession: I was always interested in all things creative. I was a client of JFJ and loved what I saw, so I approached business owner Jill for an opportunity.

Tips for young girls: Hair is such an important asset, it can create an impression on many levels both professionally and personally so put some time into making sure it represents you in the manner you desire. I also think having a healthy lifestyle and keeping fit is very important too.

Motto in life: Be positive and nice to people. Make every day count.

Best hair advice: Take the time to find the right hairdresser and the best products for you; find what makes you feel beautiful. Make your hair a priority, after all you wear it every day. The Shu Uemura products are ‘luxury’ in a bottle, I highly recommend anyone to come in and experience a Shu Ceremony – not only does your hair look amazing, but you come away feeling revitalised.

I also recommend hair extensions to keep your hair healthy and youthful, they are fabulous not only for length but to enhance your own hair with body and volume.

Men’s grooming is just as important,  there is a huge resurgence of barber shops within the industry such as “Royal Jim’s Barber” which is the Jools For Jim ‘little brother’ next door. The old-fashioned ‘no fuss, no appointment needed’ approach is a winner.
